polka dot shoes

... with a Sharpie. I haven't worn these flats in almost a year. I was so over that frayed bow (especially because it frayed a lot more since I had bought them). I was originally going to add a satin bow, the same color, but then realized that was too similar to what was already there. So the next best thing... a Sharpie. Ok so this is probably NOT the best thing because I actually googled "sharpie on fabric" and most answers pointed to "not intended for fabric". The best answer though was "when you want it stay, it won't. And when you want it to wash out, it won't". I believe a Fabric paint pen would be best but I actually went to buy one and the only single pens they had were black or white...kinda boring. I wanted a metallic and they only came in a pack of 4, I currently have no use for fabric pens so I went with the Sharpie. Ok, enough talking.
The supplies: flats, Sharpie or Fabric Pen. Optional: Hole punch and cardstock (as a guide)

First remove the bow with a Seam Ripper (?). I punched the cardstock with 3 holes and used it to outline the circles and then filled them in. Obviously you could easily free hand the circles but if there is any way I can make something close to perfect, then I will try.

Super simple and fast! What do you think? Would you a try a Sharpie on fabric?

  3. That is so cute! What a fun simple DIY. I love the gold dots. I think they actually make fabric sharpies! I saw some at the store once.

  5. Hmm it looks like your blog ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I'm thoroughly
enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I'm still new to everything. Do you have any suggestions for first-time blog writers? I'd really appreciate it.

  6. Woah! I'm really loving the template/theme of this website. It's simple, yet effective.
A lot of times it's difficult to get that "perfect balance" between user friendliness and appearance. I must say you've done a fantastic job with
this. Additionally, the blog loads very fast for me on Internet explorer.
    Outstanding Blog!
