1. Did you know, if you aren't into football, a good day to go shopping is on Super Bowl day.

2. Speaking of shopping, I was on the fence about these wedges but they were on sale for $15 and the color is just SO pretty. I went to ring them up and the lady said $5.44!... I said "Are you sure?" So excited I didn't pass them up, I'm really loving Charlotte Russe lately.
3. Would you get offended if someone asked if you were sick and you weren't? Yeah, that happened to me today. I didn't get offended though. I just explained that I was SUPER exhausted and it was definitely showing.... Monday's, what do you expect.

4. At least I got to eat this Tornado Potato for lunch
5. Don't you want a $10 Target gift card and a bracelet?! Because I'm giving that away this month for my Birthday. The odds of getting it are pretty good right now. Check it out HERE

February !

It's February... which means it's my Birthday!
I know my birthday is technically only "one" of the days in February but since my birthday is close to the beginning of the month, I like to start celebrating early. Lucky for you because I want to give one of you a birthday gift, and who cares if it's not YOUR birthday, doesn't that just make it better? So here it goes, the first and "maybe" only time I will "giveaway" anything. I want to give you a bracelet, made by me (pictured on me above) and a $10 Target gift card AND I just might make a cute little envelope to put them in.
What do you have to do? You have 2 options, you can do one or both, your choice.

1. Leave me a comment with the exact circumference of your wrist (I will leave about 1/4" extra)

2. If you are a GFC follower (or become one by pushing on the "join this site" button),
leave a separate comment with the name you follow.

*please make sure there is a way for me to contact you and US residents only please.

I will be announcing the winner on my Birthday Sunday, Feb. 10
Another good thing, I think you, yeah YOU have a pretty good chance of winning.
Good Luck! And Happy Birthday!

polka dot shoes

... with a Sharpie. I haven't worn these flats in almost a year. I was so over that frayed bow (especially because it frayed a lot more since I had bought them). I was originally going to add a satin bow, the same color, but then realized that was too similar to what was already there. So the next best thing... a Sharpie. Ok so this is probably NOT the best thing because I actually googled "sharpie on fabric" and most answers pointed to "not intended for fabric". The best answer though was "when you want it stay, it won't. And when you want it to wash out, it won't". I believe a Fabric paint pen would be best but I actually went to buy one and the only single pens they had were black or white...kinda boring. I wanted a metallic and they only came in a pack of 4, I currently have no use for fabric pens so I went with the Sharpie. Ok, enough talking.
The supplies: flats, Sharpie or Fabric Pen. Optional: Hole punch and cardstock (as a guide)

First remove the bow with a Seam Ripper (?). I punched the cardstock with 3 holes and used it to outline the circles and then filled them in. Obviously you could easily free hand the circles but if there is any way I can make something close to perfect, then I will try.

Super simple and fast! What do you think? Would you a try a Sharpie on fabric?

Yellow

My SIL let me "borrow" this pretty summery yellow dress (I warned her that once it was in my hands she was not getting it back... just a joke). She bought it, but then decided she didn't like the way it fit her. She likes the dress still, but isn't sure what to do with it to make it look right on her. So, even though I think she just needs it altered (which I am not confident in doing for her), I thought it would be fun to style it 2 different ways so that maybe she can get a different perspective on the dress.

Yellow and Navy.
You seriously can't go wrong with this look, but I think the shoes are what really pull it together. I'll even let her "borrow" them. I have had these shoes for YEARS, seriously, I would say at least 9 years! And I'm pretty sure I have only worn them about 3 times. That's what happens when you keep shoes in their original box, shoved in the back of your closet.

Yellow, Brown and a print.
I have to admit I'm not too sure about this combo, it looked cuter in my head. But the point here is that the dress can double as a really pretty skirt, with the right shirt or sweater layered over it.

It was fun wearing this dress for 30 minutes, I love how flowy it is. But the rest of the day I was in jeans and a sweatshirt, especially because it started raining before I even finished taking these pictures. Any other suggestions for a pretty yellow dress?

1. I showed my husband this picture on Pinterest and this was our conversation:
me: I have been looking for a pair of lace shorts that fit me right but haven't found any. If I make them though, they will be perfect.
husband: yeah but, you don't wear those "out" right?
me: um, yeah! why. would you be embarrassed?
husband: yes! Those look like something a baby would wear, over a diaper... not even a toddler, a Baby!

2. Yesterday I was driving home from Target and I saw the PRETTIEST rainbow ever and as I got closer to home I noticed it was a full rainbow. As soon as I pulled into the driveway, I ran inside and told Babe to put his shoes and jacket on. I took him out and snapped this picture but I wish I would have took a picture of his face when he turned around and SAW the rainbow, it was so priceless and so fun to see him in awe of it.
3. It took a year but today was the first time I wanted to cry because of my 1+ hour long drive to and from work. I left my house at 6:35am and got home at 6:02pm. I really hope (I know) It's because of the fact that this week and next is VERY busy for me, so I feel like I am wasting so much precious time sitting in my car.

Scavenger Hunt

So I have to start out by saying I completely failed with my 365 project this week! I think I only took 3 days worth of pictures, but can I just blame it on the fact that the weather has sucked and I pretty much just stayed in the house or the office....yeah?! Ok!
Kristen from KV's Confessions has been linking up with this Scavenger Hunt on Sunday's with Ramblings and Photos. This week's words looked so fun, I thought I'd give it a shot.

1. Lace

2. Bling

3. Wood

4. Fuzzy

5. Fabric
I really enjoyed taking the Scavenger Hunt pictures much more than my 365 Project pictures. I used my Canon (except the "wood" pic) instead of my phone camera, which I have been using way too much lately. I "will" get back on track with the 365 though, unless the Scavenger Hunt words are just too appealing.
