Weird

Today is Weird! It's one of those days where everything around me is just too quiet. Im not gonna lie, I enjoy quiet time, but getting on the freeway this morning at 7:15 (which is late BTW in L.A.) and being able to drive at the speed of 70mph for the first 5 minutes.... Weird. And then getting to work, empty coffee pot and empty cubicles around me....Weird. No pile of mark-ups on my desk to be drafted....Weird! Im ready for this day to end already...and it hasn't even really started....Weird! The sound of the word "Weird".... yeah! Weird!

Favorite Hair Clip

What!? You don't have ONE favorite hair clip? This past weekend my cousin asked if she could borrow a clip for her hair before she started cooking, and before I could answer, she said "never mind, I found one. Can I borrow this?" I immediately thought NO but instead I said "ok, but don't forget to put it back, it's my favorite clip", she laughed and I was like "No, seriously. I have had it since I lived with grandma, which means it's over 8 years old. It is the perfect size, for both half up/half down and all up hair. It's a nice neutral color and I just love it!".

Pretty positive I bought it at Big Lots in a four pack for less than $2 but I have not seen another that comes close to it. I actually have 2 left and I have misplaced both, several times over the years, but they always find their way back to me.

Housewarming

This past January we bought our first house! We debated for a while whether or not to have a housewarming because there is so much that we still want to do and so much we still want to buy. We finally decided it was now or never.
I LOVE planning parties however I was really nervous being that this was the first BIG party I was planning at MY House. I had lots of help from my cousin and her husband and couldn't have pulled off a super successful party without them.

Meetings

Have you ever had to run a meeting and have NO idea what your topic will be until literally 30 min before?! This was me today. I have known about this meeting for at least a month and I'm not usually one to "wing it", I ALWAYS have a plan. I felt really guilty this morning coming to work knowing I still had to prepare for a meeting. So I turn on my computer and notice ..... my boss called out sick! I felt a moment of relief (but only a moment, the meeting wasn't cancelled after all) But I didn't have to worry about looking unprepared in front of him. Although the meeting went well, I now know It is not in my nature to not put in the effort.

5 year Anniversary

5 years ago today, in a pretty little garden, in front of 150 family and friends, I married my love. Happy Anniversary to us! We are off to enjoy a weekend full of Wine.

Sleeping In

I am a Mom of a 3 yr old and a full time drafter so "Sleeping In" is, well, not something I have done since before I had a baby. I am curently on vacation to celebrate our 5 yr anniversary this weekend and I have to tell you, it was pure bliss waking up at 9:00am. (Isn't the morning light in my bedroom gorgeous)

Words in Music

My favorite part of of song are the words. A beat is of course necessary for dancing but the words of a song is what really grabs my attention. My husband is oppisite, all about the beat/sound. Recently he pointed out how music these days is all about amping up the "music" and drowning out the words. I didn't really notice until we were watching a few music videos today that this is totally true! Not for all music of course but some. It's a shame, because I might not give those songs a second chance .... unless I look up the Lyrics?!
